I get asked for ideas for great bridesmaid gifts all of the time. There are some important points to remember when considering gifts for your gals:
First, let's remember that Bridesmaids do so much more than just wear pretty outfits (hopefully!) and stand next to you on your wedding day. They provide moral support for you throughout the entire engagement process (and likely did so while you were dating and will do in the future too). These gals have probably dedicated countless hours to go dress shopping with you, look at invitation designs, commented on hundreds of photos of reception flowers, not to mention they have agreed to wear whatever outfit you've selected with a big smile on their face.
So, how do you show your appreciation for all this love and support? By presenting them with a thoughtful and meaningful gift. It doesn't have to be ultra expensive but it should be from the heart and be the kind of gift you would be glad to receive. If you are treating your attendants to manicures & pedicures that's wonderful but do also give them a gift that will be a memento too. Here are a couple of great ideas to consider:
1 - Sunglasses :: A good pair of sunglasses are a luxury that your gals
will truly appreciate and use almost everyday! What a great gift!!
Designs by Chanel, Gucci, Prada and the other fab designers will have them oohing & ahhing. Local brides should visit
Primary
Eyecare at Barracks Road and the Hollymead Towncenter locations to view
the latest styles by these designers and more! Oh yes! You read correctly - they now carry CHANEL!!!
2 - Jewelry :: Good jewelry is always a wonderful gift. Try to buy
jewelry that will last and not just something sparkly from your local
Claire's store! Check out these links for bridesmaid jewelry:
Tiffany & Co. (they really are the gold standard!) &
Leslie Chisholm Designs (an amazingly talented Virginia artist).
3 - Personalized stationery :: a set of personalized notecards are always a thoughtful and useful gift. In an act of shameless self-promotion, visit
Jennifer Carroll Designs.com and consider a set of my
preppy bloom cards with each gals monogram. It's is a wonderful gift that you can't find just anywhere!
4 - Custom Photo Book :: Create a photo book for each attendant. Filled with photos of the two of you and the many adventures you've shared together - this book is a trip down memory lane that she'll want to take over & over and
Picaboo.com makes this project so easy, even a busy bride can do it!
5 - Monogrammed tote bag :: An oversize tote bag is always handy and one that is as stylish as this is always in fashion! I love the fabrics that
Doddlescoot has in her Etsy store and I bet you will too!
I hope these gift ideas inspire you as you thank the women who support you everyday!
Happy Friday!
